This Privacy Policy explains how CarryOn Technologies, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use CarryOn ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the Service:

• Account information: Your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth)
• Profile information: Gender and age range, used to tailor outfit recommendations
• Wardrobe photos: Photos of clothing items you upload, stored securely in private cloud storage
• Wardrobe item details: Item names, categories, and colors identified by our AI or entered by you
• Trip information: Destination, travel dates, accommodation type, trip type, activity plans, and styling preferences you enter when planning a trip
• Usage data: Basic logs of app activity (e.g., number of trip generations) used for rate limiting and service integrity

We do not collect payment information at this time. We do not collect location data beyond the destination city you voluntarily enter.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the Service:

• To generate personalized outfit recommendations and packing lists
• To save your wardrobe and trips so they persist between sessions
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset) via Resend
• To enforce usage limits and protect the integrity of the Service
• To improve the accuracy and quality of our AI recommendations over time

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share your data only with the third-party service providers necessary to operate CarryOn. Each provider receives only the minimum data required for their function:

• Anthropic: Wardrobe item descriptions and trip details are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate outfit recommendations. Wardrobe photos may be sent to Anthropic for AI item identification at the time of upload. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase: Your account credentials, profile data, wardrobe items, and saved trips are stored in Supabase's secure cloud database and storage. Supabase's use of data is governed by Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel: The Service is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel may process request data as part of hosting. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
• Resend: Your email address is used by Resend to deliver transactional emails. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase. Wardrobe photos are stored in a private storage bucket — they are not publicly accessible. All data is protected by row-level security, meaning each user can only access their own data.

All connections to CarryOn are encrypted via HTTPS. While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data, wardrobe photos, and saved trips within a reasonable timeframe. Some anonymized usage data may be retained for service improvement purposes.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction: Update or correct your data within the app or by contacting us
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format

7. Children's Privacy

CarryOn is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Cookies and Tracking

CarryOn uses session storage and local authentication tokens to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics that track you across other websites.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
